First Visit

On your first visit to our office you will be welcomed with a smile to our comfortable waiting room. You will be asked to help us learn about you and your condition. We ask that all patients come prepared with our New Patient form. Click here for the form, then simply print it, fill it out completely and bring it with you. Please highlight any questions on the form that you do not understand so we can help clarify them.

CONSULTATION

Once your paperwork is in order, you will be escorted into a private examination room, where you will be met by one of the clinic’s doctors. The doctor will talk with you about your condition to initially determine if chiropractic can benefit you. This is an opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations, and ask the doctor any questions you may have about your signs and symptoms, chiropractic techniques, and general office information. If the doctor determines chiropractic care will not help your condition, he will refer you to a doctor who can help you.

EXAMINATION

After a thorough consultation with the doctor, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. The doctor will perform a spinal examination to determine any structural or functional abnormalities. If necessary, the doctor may take x-rays of your spine and, if he feels it necessary, refer you for additional testing procedures. If that occurs he will give you a detailed explanation as to why he feels any additional testing procedures are necessary. However, the final choice in regard to any and all testing procedures lies with you.

X-RAY

Complete x-ray studies allow for a more detailed analysis of your spinal column. Although the radiation dose produced by our equipment is low, it is important for female patients to understand that x-rays should be avoided during pregnancy. Chiropractors are specifically trained in the identification of spinal misalignments and determining bone alignment from x-rays. This information is used in conjunction with the history you provide and the clinical examination findings to help us arrive at a diagnosis.

WE NOW HAVE DIGITAL X-RAY! Our clinic in now equipped with the most modern advances in X-ray technology. Digital X-ray technology provides a better quality X-ray and reduces X-ray exposure to our patients. In addition, this technology allows us to copy your X-rays onto a CD within seconds.

REPORT OF FINDINGS

After reviewing your case history, examination and x-ray findings, the doctor will give you a report of these findings and detail his recommendations for treatment. Often the doctor will give you this report on the second visit.

TREATMENT

Most of our patients begin to see results during the initial stages of care. Our gentle yet effective adjustments of the body are able to restore function and movement for the athlete, senior, and child.

We understand many patients have been putting up with their pain for a long time, and have probably tried other forms of treatment before trying chiropractic care. Chiropractic care can be extremely effective in the treatment of spinal neuromuskuloskeletal conditions (neck, mid and lower back pain, and/or headaches), but patients must give treatment time to work. Some patients notice an immediate improvement, while others may take a little longer. No matter what the rate of progress though, you will know within a reasonably short time if chiropractic care is helping reduce the pain that caused you to seek treatment here in the first place.

Chiropractic treatment is not based on prescription drugs, which mask the signs and symptoms of a bigger problem. Instead, chiropractic care improves spinal joint function, which restores spinal efficiency and results in less pain and symptoms.

Chiropractic treatment and techniques are geared toward the specific needs of each patient — meaning we’ll treat the needs of an 87-year-old patient different than a 6-year-old.
